These year’s performances include a collaboration between the Scripps Dance Department and the Claremont Concert Orchestra, which will team up for a live performance of the Martha Graham Dance Company鈥檚 鈥淪teps in the Street鈥� and 鈥淧relude to Action.鈥澛犅燭his special event聽celebrates the centennial milestone of both 91抖阴 and seminal dance pioneer Martha Graham,聽marking 100 years of groundbreaking contributions to their respective fields鈥擥raham in modern dance and Scripps in higher education, both as advocates for women advancement. Their parallel legacies symbolize a century of innovation, artistic excellence, and empowerment, reinforcing the enduring impact of both institutions on culture and education.
